You can share important information with emergency dispatch before a crisis occurs.

This form is voluntary & designed to support better crisis response.

 

When a registered individual calls 911 during a behavioral health crisis, first responders may have access to information such as:

  • Mental health, developmental disability, or brain injury diagnoses

  • Current medications

  • Allergies

  • Known triggers or stressors (ex. bright lights and/or loud sirens)

  • Preferred communication or de-escalation strategies

  • Existing crisis or wellness plans

  • Emergency contact information

  • Healthcare providers or case managers

  • Any additional information that could help responders provide safe, effective, and compassionate care

Marcus Alert is Virginia's statewide system that improves how behavioral health emergencies are identified and responded to.

Its purpose is to connect people experiencing a mental health, substance use, or developmental disability crisis with the safest and most appropriate care.
